Lore

Terms of Service

Effective date: October 31, 2026 · Last updated: October 31, 2026

These terms are a binding agreement between Momentus LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“Momentus”, “we”, “us”) and you, for your use of Lore at lorebooth.com and app.lorebooth.com (the “Service”). Sections 1 to 17 apply to photo booth studios that create an account. Section 18 applies to clients and guests who use Lore books.

Please read section 15: it requires disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration, not class actions or jury trials.

Our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Data Processing Addendum are part of these terms.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using the Service you accept these terms. Lore is for businesses: you must be at least 18, use Lore for your business, and have authority to bind that business. If you sign up for a company, “you” means the company.

2. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us right away if you think someone has used your account without permission. You’re responsible for everything done in your account, including by staff you add. We may rely on instructions from your account’s owner or admins.

3. What Lore does

Lore lets you give each of your clients a Guestbook, an Advice Book and Party Polls, filled with the photos from your booth. Lore currently works with Booth.Events: you connect your Booth.Events account, and Lore reads your events and receives new prints. Lore stores Booth.Events photo IDs, not photo files, and shows each photo only while it is available in your Booth.Events account.

We may add, change or remove features at any time. Features marked as preview, beta or “coming soon” are provided as-is, may change or end, and aren’t part of the Service until released.

4. Free trial

New studios get a free 30-day trial, with no card needed. To keep going after the trial, choose a paid plan; your trial books carry over. If you don’t, your books become read-only for 30 days so you can export them, and are then deleted. We may change or end the free trial offer, or offer extended or complimentary plans, at our discretion.

5. Plans, events and billing

Every plan includes all three books and all themes. Current prices are on our pricing page (Starter $49, Pro $99, Studio $199 a month; paying yearly costs the same as 10 months).

What counts as an event. An event is one client event that goes live in a given month, with all of its books. It stays included for as long as you subscribe. If you go past your plan’s events in a month, each extra event is $15, added to your next invoice.

Payment. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Before you start a paid plan we show the price, billing period and that it renews until cancelled, and ask you to agree. We email the account owner a reminder about 30 days before a yearly plan renews, with the price and how to cancel. You authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method for subscription fees, extra events and taxes. Prices exclude taxes; you’re responsible for all taxes on your purchase except taxes on our income.

Late payment. If a payment fails, we may suspend your account (changes turned off, books stay readable) until it’s paid. If an account stays unpaid for 30 days, we may end it under section 6.

Price changes. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change affects you; it applies from your next billing period after that, and you can cancel before then.

Refunds. Refunds are available only as described in our Refund Policy (30-day money-back guarantee, once per studio). Otherwise, fees are non-refundable and not pro-rated, except where the law requires.

6. Cancelling, suspension and ending

You can cancel any time from Billing in the dashboard. Your plan runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for.

We may suspend or end your account, or remove access to any book, immediately and without refund, if you break these terms, don’t pay, create a security or legal risk, or if your use could harm Momentus, other studios, or anyone else, or where the law requires. We may also end your account for any reason with 30 days’ notice.

If we stop offering Lore, we’ll email account owners at least 30 days before the Service closes. During that time no new charges are made and your books stay available so you and your clients can export them; when it closes, all data is deleted. We’ll refund prepaid fees for any period after the closing date. That refund is your only remedy, and we aren’t liable for any loss from the closure. We may give shorter or no notice where that isn’t possible: if the law, a court or a regulator requires it, if a provider we depend on ends its service, or in bankruptcy, insolvency or a force majeure event (section 17).

After your account ends (other than a closure of the Service, above), your books are read-only for 30 days so you and your clients can export them, then deleted for good. If we end your account for a breach, we may delete data sooner where the law or safety requires. It’s your responsibility to export what you want to keep. Sections 7, 9, 11 to 17 and anything else that by its nature should survive, survive.

7. Your content, your clients and your guests

You, your clients and your guests keep ownership of what is put into Lore: booth photos, cover images, event details, notes, advice and votes (“Content”). You give Momentus a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, adapt (for example, resize or format) and display Content to provide, secure and improve the Service. We may also use de-identified, aggregated data that doesn’t identify you or any person (for example, how many notes books receive) to run, improve and promote Lore.

We don’t monitor content. Content is created by you, your clients and guests, not by us, and we aren’t responsible for it. We have no duty to review it, but we may remove, hide or refuse any Content at our discretion. The word-list filter is a convenience, not a guarantee: it won’t catch everything, and handwritten notes aren’t checked.

You are responsible for:

  • having all rights and permissions needed for the photos and other Content you connect or upload, including from people who appear in your booth photos;
  • your relationship and agreements with your clients. Momentus isn’t a party to them and doesn’t provide any service to your clients. Don’t promise your clients anything about Lore that these terms don’t (for example, that books are kept forever, or that Lore will never be unavailable);
  • your clients’ and guests’ access to their books. Their access depends entirely on your account. If you cancel, don’t pay, are suspended, or your account ends for any reason, their books go read-only and are then deleted on the same schedule as yours. Telling them, giving them time to export, and any refund, credit or other remedy you owe them are your responsibility, not ours;
  • giving clients and guests any notices the law requires (Lore shows guests a short notice with links to our policies before they post);
  • moderating your books, and responding to your clients’ and guests’ requests about their Content;
  • keeping your own copies. Lore is not a backup or archive service.

8. Acceptable use

Don’t, and don’t let anyone else:

  • post or allow content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, sexualizes minors, or invades someone’s privacy;
  • use Lore to collect guests’ personal information for purposes they haven’t agreed to, or to store sensitive information (health, financial, government ID numbers);
  • break, probe, scrape or overload the Service, get around limits or access controls, access another studio’s data, or copy, reverse engineer or build a competing product from Lore;
  • resell or sublicense the Service, other than offering Lore books to your own clients as part of your booth services;
  • use Lore in breach of export controls or sanctions, or from a sanctioned country.

9. Copyright complaints

If you believe Content in Lore infringes your copyright, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to our designated agent at Momentus LLC, Attn: Copyright Agent, 11209 NE 141st Pl, Kirkland, WA 98034, United States, support@lorebooth.com, including the work, where it appears in Lore, your contact details, a good-faith statement and a statement under penalty of perjury that you’re authorized to act. We remove infringing material when appropriate and end the accounts of repeat infringers.

10. Booth.Events and other services

Lore depends on third-party services, including Booth.Events, hosting, database and payment providers. Your use of Booth.Events is governed by your agreement with them. If you delete photos or events there, revoke Lore’s access, or any third-party service is unavailable, changes its features, prices, terms or API, or stops working with Lore, parts of Lore may stop working. We may change or end an integration (including with Booth.Events) when that happens, without liability. We aren’t responsible for third-party services or their effect on the Service.

11. Our property, feedback and publicity

Lore, including its software, designs, themes and the Lore name and brand, belongs to Momentus, and we reserve all rights not expressly granted. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service under these terms while your account is active. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without any obligation to you. We may name your studio and show your logo as a Lore customer; email us to opt out.

12. Live events and disclaimers

Live events depend on things outside our control: venue Wi-Fi and cell signal, guests’ phones and browsers, your booth and Booth.Events. We don’t promise any level of availability, and Lore may be slow, interrupted or unavailable at any time, including during an event. We may carry out maintenance, updates or emergency security work at any time, with or without notice. You’re responsible for having a backup plan for your events (for example, a paper guestbook) and for the outcome of your events.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service and all Content are provided “as is” and “as available”, and Momentus disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that Content will be preserved, accurate or filtered.

13. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • Momentus and its members, managers, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for claims by your clients or guests, even if we were told they were possible;
  • our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these terms is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100;
  • these limits apply to every kind of claim (contract, tort including negligence, statute or otherwise) and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

Our prices reflect these limits; they are an essential part of our agreement.

14. Your indemnity

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Momentus and its members, managers, employees and contractors from all claims, losses, damages, fines and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your Content or your booth photos; your events; any claim by your clients or guests relating to your events or books, including loss of access to books because your account was cancelled, unpaid, suspended or ended; your agreements with your clients; your breach of these terms or the law; your privacy notices and practices; and your use of Booth.Events or other third-party services. We’ll tell you about a claim and may take part in the defense with our own counsel; you won’t settle a claim that imposes any obligation on us without our written consent.

15. Disputes: arbitration and class action waiver

Try us first. Before starting any claim, email us a description of it and give us 30 days to resolve it informally.

Arbitration. Any dispute relating to the Service or these terms will be resolved by final, binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, by a single arbitrator, in King County, Washington or by video. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may ask a court for an injunction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.

No class actions or jury trials. Disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, not as a class, collective or representative action, and you and Momentus each waive any right to a jury trial.

Time limit. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington and the Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For anything not subject to arbitration, the state and federal courts in King County, Washington have exclusive jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we’ll give studios at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the dashboard; changes needed for legal or security reasons may take effect sooner. If you keep using Lore after a change takes effect, you accept it; if you don’t agree, cancel before then.

17. General

  • Entire agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and DPA are the whole agreement about Lore and replace any earlier discussions. Your purchase order or other terms don’t apply. If they conflict, the DPA controls for personal data, then these terms.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer these terms without our written consent. We may transfer them, including in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure. We aren’t liable for any delay, failure, outage, data loss or interruption caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These include: failures or outages of the internet, telecommunications, power, venue networks or guests’ devices; outages, errors, data loss, suspensions or changes (including to features, prices, terms or APIs) at any third-party service, including Booth.Events, Supabase, Cloudflare, Stripe, Google and our email provider; cyberattacks, denial-of-service attacks, malware, hacking or other unauthorized access despite reasonable security; fire, flood, storms, earthquakes and other natural disasters; epidemics and pandemics; war, terrorism, riots and civil unrest; strikes and labor disputes; and laws, regulations, court orders, sanctions or other government action. Our obligations are suspended while the event lasts. Your obligation to pay for the Service isn’t.
  • Notices. We may send notices by email to your account address or in the dashboard. You agree to receive communications electronically. Legal notices to us go to the address below.
  • No third-party beneficiaries. These terms don’t give anyone else, including your clients and guests, any rights against Momentus.
  • Other. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and that part is enforced as far as allowed. Not enforcing a right isn’t a waiver. We’re independent contractors. The English version controls.

18. For clients and guests

If you open a Lore book as a client or guest, the studio that runs your event provides it to you, and by using the book you agree to these points:

  • What you post is shared. Notes, names and votes appear in a book that anyone with its link or QR code can open (sealed advice opens on the date the studio sets). Don’t post anything you wouldn’t want the couple and other guests to see.
  • Be kind and lawful. The acceptable use rules in section 8 apply. The studio, the client or Momentus may hide or remove any entry.
  • You keep ownership of what you write, and you give the studio, its client and Momentus a permanent, royalty-free license to display, keep, print and export it as part of the book.
  • The studio is your provider. Momentus isn’t a party to your arrangement with the studio. Questions or requests about a book go to the studio first.
  • Books don’t last forever. A book stays available only while the studio subscribes to Lore and for 30 days after, or until Lore closes. If you lose access because of the studio’s account, take it up with the studio; Momentus has no obligation to you. Photos show only while the studio keeps them in its booth platform. Keep your own copies of anything you want.
  • Sections 11 to 17 (our property, disclaimers, limits on liability, arbitration and class action waiver, and general terms) apply to you too. Because you don’t pay us, our total liability to you is limited to $100.
